Murder Tightly Knit

Murder Tightly Knit is an intriguing suspense novel. First off Vannetta Chapman  leaves behind the sneaky murder in book one by outright murdering her victim in book two. Suddenly we have English and Amish people all trying to figure out who's the killer. As a side note, I love that Vannetta blends the two worlds; it's not Amish in one corner and English in the other. Both worlds may worship separately, but they work together as friends. When the blended group of friends decide to look into the murder they find themselves in danger, building new friendships, and breaking sterio types. Overall, the book is a wonderful read that at times will leaving you guessing. If you're like me there will also be times you want to pop some of the characters in the back of the head. Why do they all feel they must touch and move evidence? To the Murder Tightly Knit characters, don't touch anything just call the police!

Uncharted Redemption

Author Keely Brooke Keith, has once again delivered a riveting tale of the Colburn family that is chopped full of danger, death, and love. In this novel we learn more about the mysterious island and the link of where and when people have stumbled upon The Land. We're also reminded to take what we can from a bad situation; that might mean changing our perspective or actions.


Personally, I enjoyed the book right up till the end. I felt drawn into the characters lives and like always, I wanted to know more. Because I was no longer questioning the where, why, and how's of the island, like in book one, I enjoyed it so much more.


Come on summer 2015 so we can get the rest of the story! 

Pieces of Granite

Today I finished reading Pieces of Granite by Brenda S. Anderson and my goodness was it a good read.  If you've ever lost an infant or pregnancy or know someone who has, have a special needs child, or a rough patch in your marriage, you will be able to relate to this book. The story drew me in and made me not want to put the book down. I was there when the diagnoses was given. I was there when the gut wrenching pain of lost hopes and dreams unfolded. Brenda nailed the pain of loss, the shock of an unexpected diagnosis and the turmoil marriages can go through when life throws in a curve ball. She also does a wonderful job of pointing you back to Jesus.

The Land Uncharted

I recently read The Land Uncharted by Keely Brooke Keith and loved it. Yes, you read that right I loved it. I like reading a story without reading the back cover first. I enjoy being surprised as the story unfolds before. Well this futuristic meets primitive story in some uncharted land left me puzzled until I let it go. That's right I left go not knowing the setting, but when I did I really enjoyed the story. Could you give up all modern conveniences for a new land and people that you're starting to fall in love with or would you be finding a way to leave the mysterious land? You'll have to read the book to find out what Connor decides.

For me, this was a great book to stay up late with and fall asleep reading. There was at least one night I went to bed at 2am just so I could find out what happens next. My only question is, when does book two come out? I need to know what happens next.

Wedded to War

I just finished reading Wedded to War by Jocelyn Green and must admit I was left shocked. I found myself flipping back and forth between the last page I read and the next page that wanted me to rate the book. Wait a second! Didn't I just start the book? Wasn't I just getting sucked in? It can't be over it just began! I guess I need to read book two to see what happens next.

Wedded to War is about a woman, Charlotte, who wants to serve her country in some capacity. Being a woman of stature it isn't acceptable for her to get her hands dirty. So what's someone with a servants heart to do when it's not acceptable to serve?

I found Wedded to War intriguing. Charlotte is a go against the flow kind of girl. It's women like her who make history. It's a good, quick read. Keep in mind it's just the beginning of the story. You'll have to read book two and three if you want the full story.

The Dance

Recently I read The Dance.  I have to admit before I knew what it was about I HAD to read it because Gary Smalley is one of the authors.  Our premarital counseling included some videos and books by Gary Smalley and they were GOOD.  And...  The Dance didn't disappoint!

The Dance is about a couple who has allowed their marriage to become stagnant.  The husband, Jim, is clueless and his wife Marilyn is miserable.  For Jim EVERYTHING is about show.  He picks what church he goes to, his role in the church, his car, home, and friends according to how it will benefit him and make him look.  Marilyn just wants to connect with her husband.

So as not to spoil the book I'll just say I was challenged in my marriage.  We got to know each other and fell in love while traveling around the US having amazing adventures.  And now?  Not so much.  What's our thing?  Should we take a dance class?  Would we enjoy it if we could do it?  I know our adventures doesn't have to include dancing, but it does need to be something we can experience together.

I loved the book and I'm happy to know it's book one of three.

Sisters of Mercy Flats

I finished Sisters of Mercy Flats by Lori Copeland and didn't want it to end.  We have an orphan, a thief and a shoe salesman all meshed together.  Abigail is on her way to jail when she finds herself being rescued by Hershall Digman.  Little did they know their lives would never be the same again.  Their lives are both wrapped in lies and disguises.  They're almost killed, thrown in jail, shot at, kidnapped, gravely ill, and dealing with fears like being scared of the dark, all the while a war is going on and men's lives hang in the balance.

I know I've said it before, but this one I most definitely want to read the next two books.  I have to know what happens to Abigail's sisters.
